Robert
Kepner |
Kepner
played collegiate soccer at UNC for Hall of Fame coach Dr.
Marvin Allen and has been an influential and dedicated leader
and promoter of soccer in North Carolina ever since. He
served as president of the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association
for 14 years. He began coaching soccer in Chapel Hill when
his two sons began playing in the early 1970s, and was the
first president of the Central Carolina Youth Soccer Association.
He has also served as president and treasurer of the N.C.
Amateur Soccer Association, and has held positions at the
Region III and national levels. He is slated to be inducted
into the US Youth Soccer Region III Hall of Fame in the
fall of 2005.

Kepner Inducted Into USASA Hall of Fame
Durham’s Bob Kepner, a member
of the North Carolina Soccer Hall of Fame (Class of 2004) was among
five individuals selected by the United States Adult Soccer Association
(USASA), the governing body of amateur adult soccer in the U.S.,
for induction to the USASA Hall of Fame, Class of 2011. The honorees
were inducted at the USASA Hall of Fame Ceremony Awards Dinner on
Saturday, October 8th, during the USASA Midyear Meeting in Clearwater,
Florida. Inductees were chosen on the basis of having made a significant
contribution toward the development and advancement of adult amateur
soccer at the national or regional level.
The Class of 2011, chosen by the USASA Hall of Fame
Committee, includes: Dick Burns, Brandi Chastain, Casey
Frankewicz, Hector Nava and Kepner. |
