Pat
Hamilton was at the birth of organized youth soccer in North
Carolina. In the early 1970s he was one of the pioneers
of soccer who first organized the Capital Area Soccer League
and its forerunner, the Raleigh Soccer League. He was instrumental
in the development of the CASL/WRAL Soccer Complex, and
a co-founder of the North Carolina Youth Soccer League.
He served as vice-president and president of NCYSA in the
late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and received the NCYSA
Pioneer of the Game award in 1992.
