Herk DeGraw has compiled a career total 759 coaching victories at the time of his induction into the North Carolina Soccer Hall of Fame. He coached Greensboro’s Grimsley High School boys team for 27 years, posting a 391-122-28 record. The Whirlies qualified for the NCHSAA 4A state playoffs 17 times, reaching the state finals on three occasions.

He continues as Grimsley’s girls coach, and going into the 2006 season he has a 368-45-18 record over 22 seasons, while appearing in the 4-A championship game 12 times with six state championships.
