Played collegiate soccer at N.C. State University and was boys head coach at Sanderson High School in Raleigh for 20 years (1977-96) and remains the school’s director of athletics. Teams enjoyed four unbeaten seasons, an overall record of 363-44-21 and a record of 103 consecutive games without a loss was a national record. Sanderson won 11 state championships. 1985 N.C. Boys High School Coach of the Year and Southern Regional Boys COY, and in 1992 received NSCAA’s National Merit Award.
